The division one and women's contests held Friday, Saturday and Sunday are affected by the move, while those at the premier division games won't have to don a mask.
"We understand the confusion but the Public Health direction directly relates to the current situation and new approval of finals COVID Plans. The condition of mask wearing will be reviewed next week," said NTFA President Scott Rigby.
"We encourage this Public Health directive to not stop you from coming to the football to support your team. It is just a reflection of the ever-changing world we live in.
"We need to make football the winner through whatever challenge is thrown at us."
