When baby Azaria was taken by a dingo in 1980, a media frenzy ensued, followed by Mrs Chamberlain's imprisonment and later, her exoneration.
More recently, the story returned to the spotlight as part of a podcast series led by Dr Fiona Reynolds.
Accidental Celebrity explored the behind-the-scenes story and impact of how a competitive media industry turned ordinary Australians into public figures.
Now, Dr Reynolds will reunite with Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton as part of this year's Tamar Valley Peace Festival, which will return to the state in August.
With the theme of peace in recovery, festival chairwoman Donna Bain said Dr Reynolds' fascinating perspective on how ordinary people experienced incredible trauma, becoming the subject of intense public interest, fitted the bill perfectly.
"We all know these stories from what we have read or seen in the media, however, most of us will never know the full story, the background information that paints a fuller picture," Ms Bain said.
"What Fiona has done is peel back the veil of the media portrait and give us an insight and understanding into the real people - it is a powerful story."
Dr Fiona Reynolds in conversation with Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton will take place at Launceston Tramsheds on August 5 at 5.30pm.
