The annual BeerFest event is held on New Year's Eve and is one of the city's biggest New Year's Eve celebrations.
BeerFest director James Harding said the festival had received funding of $46,000 for the next financial year, but the festival would also receive that money each year for the next three years in the deal that was struck.
"We are very passionate about the event, and having been on New Year's Eve for the last three years, it's been a very successful event for all those involved," he said.

"It was definitely one of our main priorities to secure the event again."
The large proportion of the funding the event received will be spent on the fireworks displays and interstate marketing and advertising.
"As long as the borders are open and we can be COVID safe, we will be working hard to attract a lot of interstate audience," Mr Harding said.
Though the event was split across three locations last year to abide by COVID-19 restrictions, this year the event will be held in one location - Royal Park.
Mr Harding said the event would be expanded to have two sessions. One will be held earlier in the day from 11am-3pm and will be family-friendly.
Then the space will close for an hour to be cleaned, before reopening to allow for the more traditional style BeerFest.
Mr Harding said the festival was also considering expanding to hold satellite events in bars and restaurants leading up to the New Year's Eve celebration.
However, BeerFest was not the only recipient of money. Encore Theatre was given a $15,000 grant for their production of Mamma Mia after applying for the current round of the Major Event Sponsorship program.
Co-founder Belinda King said the application for the 2021-22 grant round was lodged last march.
"It's so exciting to know that we have such support from the council to get back into our beautiful venues and do what we can do best to encourage the arts along, and also see the potential of local hospitality benefit from a successful season," she said.
The funding will primarily be spent on venue hiring costs.
Though the dates for the upcoming production of Mamma Mia had already been released - October 22 until November 6 - the details of ticket sales had been kept under wraps, until now.
Mamma Mia presale tickets will be released on June 9 at 10am for all those who had tickets to previous shows before the postponement.
For the general public, they will have to wait until June 15 at 10am to have their chance at scoring a ticket.
"What can I say but 'here we go again'," Ms King said.
Tickets will be available on the Theatre North website when released.
