Since forming Elite Lifting, Laycock has taken almost 20 athletes under his wing, ranging from casual lifters, bodybuilders to those interested in competition.
"[I] just wanted to put a bit back into the sport what I got out of it," he said.
"I like helping people, just anyone of any age who wants to learn Olympic weightlifting I will take on and coach - anyone who wants to get strong or anything like that.
"I just want to help people, I enjoy people getting satisfaction out of improving."

Laycock also broke a national record himself at the president's cup meeting but is focusing on his students.
"I've just been playing around, I'm going to have a crack and try and break the world record later in the year but it's more about younger lifters and other people I like coaching."
One of his eager lifters, 21-year-old tattoo artist Angie Arnold, broke six under-23 and senior state records for the 76kg female division last weekend after only working with Laycock for three months.
Lifting 65kg in the snatch and 85 in the clean and jerk, Arnold finds herself ranked ninth in Australia and hopes to qualify for nationals at the next meet in a month's time.
"The nerves were definitely there, so I was happy to get what I did with how nervous I was feeling," Arnold said.
"I wasn't expecting massive things but I definitely wasn't expecting to get the placements that I did."
