A number of sites in and around Sydney will be declared high-risk to Tasmania, Public Health acting director Dr Scott McKeown has confirmed.

It comes after confirmation of a locally acquired COVID-19 case in NSW on Wednesday.
The high risk declaration will come into effect as of 12.01am Thursday morning.

Dr McKeown said anyone in Tasmania who has been in NSW on or since April 30 should check the NSW public exposure site list on the NSW Health Department website.
High risk locations listed include venues at Bondi Junction, Mascot and Paddington.
Anyone who was at any of the sites listed at the specific date and time must self- isolate immediately and call the Tasmanian Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 for further advice.
Dr McKeown said the public exposure site list may change as the NSW contact tracing progresses and it should be checked regularly by anyone who has recently been in NSW.
The Acting Director of Public Health has declared a number of the exposure sites as
high-risk premises to manage the risk of people entering Tasmania.

Anyone who has been at a high-risk premises at the dates and times specified will not be permitted to enter Tasmania unless approved by the Deputy State Controller as an essential traveller.
If anyone has any cold or flu symptoms, even mild, contact the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 to arrange a test.
Further advice will be issued as NSW authorities continue contact tracing.
