The hereditary condition affects approximately 2.7 million Australians, more than 460,000 of those school-aged children under the age of 14.
Asthma Foundation data showed that in 2014-15. 42 per cent of Australians under the age of 14 had to take time off school due to asthma.
Mother and pharmacist Tara Fox said things like taking medication at regular times can be easily forgotten during school holidays.

"You're out of that routine during the holidays, and back to school is the time where asthma related hospital admissions are at their highest," Ms Fox said.
Her daughter Loganne admitted to not keeping up with her routine as strictly during the holidays, but said she was prepared for the year ahead.
Preparations include ensuring medications are in date, and an updated asthma plan is lodged with the school.
