Behind the black doors on Brisbane Street hides a new look front area with a new name, the Front Bar - not to be confused with the television show.
Manager Stephen Higby said plans were being worked on prior to the pandemic.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"COVID made it impossible for us to operate the way we did before," Mr Higby said.
"We also wanted to show people that this venue, and us as operators, are able to offer a totally different product as well.
"We are trying to cater for what Launceston needs, and that's what we do with the nightclub. But while that can't operate, there's a spot there and we can operate in that capacity."
The nightclub side of the business won't be able to operate until restrictions are eased further, but when it does both parts will operate in cohesion.
"We don't see Front Bar as a competitor for other venues in Launceston, but rather as us all working together," Mr Higby said.
"With the restrictions, all of the venues at the moment are at capacity, and a lot of operators are finding that people are choosing to stay at home rather than try and go out because of it.
"There's a reason to go out and be sociable again within the restrictions. We want to still have those places in the CBD where people can go out, enjoy some music, enjoy a few drinks with their friends and have a nice night.
"There's demand for entertainment, that's why we have a real emphasis on live musicians and an actual dj. We want to support those in the live music industry, those who struggled during the shutdown."
Front Bar opens Friday from 12pm and Saturday from 5pm.
