A fire at a Launceston food court on Saturday night caused thousands of dollars of damage to a restaurant's kitchen.

Crews from Launceston's Tasmania Fire Service responded to the structural fire at Morty's Food Hall about 8pm.

Crews extinguishing the blaze after it began in the kitchen of Thai Express and a TFS spokesperson said the fire at the restaurant was contained quickly.
"The cause of the fire was deemed accidental," they said.
"With approximate damage between $10,000 and $15,000."
All customers were evacuated from the 25 Wellington Street venue after the fire broke out.
The fire began in the Thai restaurant's kitchen and affected its cooking/frying system.
However, the food outlet was back up and operating on Sunday.
Inside the food hall, no other restaurants appeared to have suffered any damage from the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
