Described by victorious coach Dan Roden as a battle of defences, the reigning premiers burst out of the blocks against the perennial finalists, establishing a five-point lead in the first five minutes.
The Arrows marginally made amends to trail 14-11 at quarter-time but the Cavaliers flexed their muscle, distancing their opponents from the lead for the bulk of the contest.
Leading 41-27 heading into the final quarter, the hosts looked to be cruising to an easy victory but the Arrows showed, despite sitting just outside finals reach this season, why they are highly respected, winning the last stanza 10-7.
"That was a really tough game, Arrows are a quality team and they fought that out for four quarters," Roden said.
"We had a lot of injuries today, it's no excuse but we were four down in the end with Piper [Sanders] coming off.
"So we were missing Shelby [Miller], Zoe [Claridge], Hayley [McDougall] and then Piper, so that really tested our depth off the bench.
"When you come away with a win when you've got probably three out of your seven starters not on the court, that's actually pretty good."

Roden was full of praise for his fresh defensive combination of Estelle Margetts and Dana Lester, with Margetts moving to the back end of the court this season.
Having previously played as a wing attack or even at the opposite end of the court as a goal attack, her work certainly caught the eye of Roden as Shannae Heazlewood and Mel Philpott also impressed in the win.
"The connection between Estelle and Dana has been building each week and they've been getting better and better, so defensively I think we got a lot of game possessions.
"Their defence dominated us and we dominated them, so as a result a little bit was which shooting combination was going to break the game open and we just held on.
"Obviously Shannae Heazlewood we had to move from wing defence to wing attack, which she hasn't even trained for all year and really delivered in that last quarter to steady the ship.
"Mel [Philpott] stood tall again today in goal shooter, Zoe Gough is incredibly tough to play on and I think she stood strong and basically shot the goals when we needed her to."
Climbing over the half-way point of the season, the defending champions comfortably sit in second place with seven wins and a loss.
The Cavaliers get their chance at redeeming their solitary blemish on Friday as they take on the Northern Hawks with Roden hopeful his injured quartet will take part.
"It's kind of almost one of those games that's telling in the whole season of where you're sitting - they are the benchmark, they are are on top of the ladder."
