Junior school student Jack Smith was named in Tasmania's 12-and-under side while Lucy and Ella McArthur, Lauren Walsh, Ava Jones and Holly Gibbons were all named in the 15-and-under girls.
Both sides were set to take part in the School Sport Australia championships in November while prefect Benjamin Hill rounds out the school's skillful seven, named in the under-18 side that was set to compete at the national youth championships in October.
School headmaster Richard Ford described it as an honour and a privilege to see his students making the most of their opportunities in such a growing sport.
"In the under-15 team playing for Tasmania this year, more than a third of the team are coming from Grammar and to some extent that's a reflection of the growing number of students involved in the sport at the school," he said.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT
"Grammar's focused on providing excellent educational opportunities for students and we want that to be a holistic education.
"Sport is one of those parts that we do focus on because we think that students do learn a great deal from their involvement about winning and losing well, about relationships and about themselves.
"We offer over 20 different sports throughout the year and everyone's expected to get involved in that because we think that they will grow and learn a lot from that experience regardless of whether sport is something that they love or just something they are happy to be involved in."
Someone who certainly loves their sport is 17-year-old Hill, who having moved down from rugby heartland Queensland, got involved in the state's touch football program.
"It's very vastly different [to Queensland], up there it's the main sport generally but down here it flies under the radar a bit but it's a great sport and a great community down here," Hill said.
"It's just great fun. It's something I got into as it is great fun and a great sport."
