Glamorgan Spring Bay Council Mayor Debbie Wisby says the council would not support amalgamation because their ratepayers don't.

In January 2018 the council conducted a survey to establish whether the residents of Glamorgan Spring Bay would support amalgamation.
Cr Wisby said out of the 484 responses 88 per cent were not in favour.
"The residents and ratepayers overwhelmingly said no," she said.
Her comments come after Break O'Day mayor Mick Tucker declared his support for voluntary amalgamation in a column written for The Examiner on Monday.

He said with ageing populations and an increased capacity to share resources local governments need to consider amalgamation more seriously.
Cr Wisby said whether it is an amalgamation or boundary adjustment if Glamorgan Spring Bay wouldn't exist then they wouldn't support it because people in the area don't.
