Inspector Darren Hopkins attributed a rise in reports of shop stealing across the district as a direct follow on from the 2018 blitz.
"We're seeing that the confidence in police has increased and we're getting more reports from business owners coming forward," Inspector Hopkins said.
"We want to encourage a business that have products stolen to give us a call because it might be that one report that helps that helps solve a heap more."
Luke Dawson runs Venue in the Kingsway and has been working with the police and other Launceston retailers on identifying and reporting potential thieves.
"We operate a private Facebook group that retailers in Launceston use to identify and share information on shoplifters in and around Launceston," Mr Dawson said.
