Andrew Pitt was elected to the position unopposed as Tim Holder concluded his three-year run as president.
Mr Pitt was formerly the chamber's vice president.
"It's an honour and a privilege to take on the Presidency of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce," Mr Pitt said.
"I want to acknowledge the leadership that Tim Holder has displayed over the last three years and I look forward to working with our fantastic board and officers as we continue to be the strong voice for the Launceston business community."
Mr Pitt is heavily involved in family business Neil Pitt's Menswear alongside accommodation and commercial property.
He has worked for a consultant in the water sector and for UTAS on the Northern Transformation's connectivity to the Central City.
He is also the chamber's representative on the Cityprom board and a director of the Breath of Fresh Air film festival.
The chamber also elected Kate Daley and Stephen Brown as vice-presidents of the chamber, and Janine Healey as treasurer.
