Care for Africa concert organiser Justin Birchmore said it was a very special night with an exclusive performance by soprano Sara Macliver.
"People went out of their way to explain how extraordinary the night was," he said.
"I think people picked up on how special Sara is, and people who are in the operatic scene and are followers of the TSO understand where she ranks in the hierarchy of sopranos in Australia, and she's right up there.
"What she did, which I thought was fantastic, is that she came up with a program which was very approachable and delightful in the traditional baroque performances, but then finished off with a Joni Mitchell piece.
"It was very embracing."
The concert raised funds for the Care for Africa Foundation, providing infrastructure and programs to promote health, wellbeing, and self-sufficiency in the Mara region of Tanzania.
The community is raising funds for four local charities as part of The Examiner's Winter Relief Appeal. Can you help?
