It's not clear how exactly the Treasurer came to injure himself, only that the incident involved skateboarding.
In what's likely to prompt a sigh of relief from his Cabinet colleagues, Mr Gutwein has not let the fall keep him from his important duties.

He worked from his Launceston electorate office on Tuesday, according to a government spokesperson.
"The Treasurer suffered a minor skateboarding injury over the weekend," the spokesperson said.
"There is no lasting damage and he has been working from his Launceston office today."
Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, who was in Launceston on Tuesday, said he had spoken to Mr Gutwein on the phone since the skateboarding incident.
Mr Frydenberg told media that his Tasmanian counterpart had "torn a hamstring" as a result of the "dangerous habit he has of skateboarding".
"It's put him out of service for a little bit," Mr Frydenberg said with a grin.
It's known that Mr Gutwein likes to keep fit.

According to his biography on the Tasmanian Liberals website, the Treasurer stays active by "training regularly" and is a qualified black belt instructor in Tae Kwon Do.
Mr Gutwein has two children, Millie and Finn.
