In Launceston, hundreds of people are expected to head along with their best canine companions and take steps to help animals in need along the old bicycle track at the Inveresk precinct.
RSPCA Tasmania chief executive Andrew Byrne said the event served as the biggest annual fundraiser for the animal welfare charity.
"It is a really fun day out, but it also raises money which ensures we are able to continue our work here in Tasmania," he said.
"Because it's a national event, it also reminds us that we are not isolated here in Tasmania in what we aim to achieve in ensuring animal welfare."
Dr Byrne said the RSPCA had been consolidating its services since the closure of the Launceston Animal Care Centre earlier this year, but maintained the organisation still had a strong presence in Tasmania.
"There is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes, but rest assured the RSPCA is still very active throughout Tasmania," he said.
"Particularly through our inspectorate services, and an event like the Million Paws Walk goes a long way in continuing that."
