The much anticipated final season has been (finally) gracing our screens for the past four weeks, and boy have things gotten even more complicated - who would have thought it could?!
I need to start by saying that Ayra Stark has been a huge favourite of mine throughout the entire show and it's incredibly easy to see why, especially after episode three.
And umm, she can swap faces? That's way cooler than having dragons as far as I'm concerned.
Oh, and I almost definitely was not about to forget that she pulled off the best kill I've seen all season. That's right folks, Ayra killed the Night King. You're welcome Jon Snow and Queen Daenerys Targaryen.
Speaking of those two, what is going to happen with them? It's vastly obvious the Mother of Dragons is shattered by her lover turning out to be her nephew.
And that's where it got complicated.
Honestly, that was quite possibly the biggest revelation of the entire show, that Jon Snow in fact is not a bastard, but rather, Aegon Targaryen. Yes, a Targaryen, which means technically, he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
Obviously this is a threat to Dany and her claim to the Throne, especially since everyone seems to warm up to Jon Snow a lot more.
But, true to character, Jon admits he doesn't want to be King and would rather see Daenerys get the top job. How romantic... but not everyone agrees.
You've got to feel some sympathy for the poor lass though, her assumed best friend,
Missandei, was beheaded by the Mountain at request of Queen Cersei Lannister.
At this point in time I have some questions that I need to be answered.
- Will the Hound finally get to fulfil his prophecy to kill his brother, the Mountain?
- With Cersei Lannister's prophecy to be killed by a little brother, will it be Jaime or Tyrion?
- In relation to question two, Melisandre had a pep talk to Ayra in episode three and revealed her future: "I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me: brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you'll shut forever." Ayra has killed Walder Frey (brown eyes), the Night King (blue eyes), which leaves green eyes, just like Cersei Lannister's... Will she be the one to kill Cersei disguised as a Lannister brother?
I have heard whispers that the ending of GoT is said to be "bitter-sweet". Based from this, I predict the show to end with Daenerys dying (bitter) and Jon Snow claiming the Throne (sweet).
I could be wrong, but that's what I think will happen as I brace myself for episode five to screen next Monday.
