And Health Minister Michael Ferguson said he had been flooded with compliments.
“I was really pleased to hear how much our interstate firies love the food they’re being fed,” he said. “They were raving about how good it is.”
Jason Cundall, acting food service manager, said the LGH were serving up about 200 meals per day, before dropping the food off at the Youngtown operations centre.
The firefighters are getting packed lunches and hot dinners, including carveries and chicken parmigianas.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the work that they’re doing, and having had the opportunity to go out to some of their base camps, you see just how exhausted and hungry and tired they are,” he said.
“Knowing that we’re able to sustain them with food is a really good feeling.”
