Tasmania Fire Service issued a warning for smoke activity in northern Tasmania with south-south-easterly winds fanning the fire and sending smoke to the north.
It is likely to remain visible “over the next few days”, the warning reads.
The Central Plateau fire has burned since a dry lightning strike on Tuesday, and remains uncontrolled.
Despite more favourable firefighting conditions on Sunday, the coming week is expected to result in more dangerous fire weather with high temperatures and strong winds.
The TFS smoke warning advises motorists to take caution if driving in smoke, turn on headlights and drive slowly.
People with medical conditions are also encouraged to avoid prolonged activity outside.
