Print remains important to us. Every day we curate the news of the day to produce a product that is both informative and entertaining.
The stories that are published in the print edition are often evolving online at examiner.com.au. Some stories have four or five versions, which are then presented as a cohesive and in-depth version in print.
To accommodate for the demand online, we’ve had to make changes. This has included investing in a new website to make it cross-platform friendly and on Tuesday introducing local news subscriptions for examiner.com.au.
While change is regarded as the only constant – one thing that remains the same is The Examiner’s commitment to news and Northern Tasmania.
We believe in quality local journalism that you trust and information that keeps you connected. We believe in truth, fairness, accountability and asking the questions that people may not want to answer.
Community news and feature writing has a rightful place alongside hard news.
Our role as the Fourth Estate and a voice for Northern Tasmania is never taken for granted. It is a privilege every day to write for our readers – both print and our worldwide online audience.
We are here to help. To ensure Northern Tasmania continues to progress and advance.
Every day people reach out to us for our assistance. Whether it’s because of love of someone or something, to drive social change, to seek action or to fight important community campaigns.
For 176 years, The Examiner has been supported by loyal readers and advertisers. Only the first three editions of The Examiner were free.
We strongly believe that content we are publishing to examiner.com.au is valuable. Our local news subscription allows our audiences to choose the way want to support our content – because quality local journalism is worth paying for.
