At Petrarch’s Bookshop on Firday, football fans had the opportunity to meet the AFL legend as he signed copies of his autobiography, titled The General.
Often referred to as ‘the General’ for his leadership skills on and off the field, his book is a tale of the sacrifices, setbacks, and challenges that Mr Hodge faced on his journey from growing up in country Victoria to becoming a Hawthorn AFL champion.
Mr Hodge is a four-time premiership winner and three-time premiership captain, and he is often considered to be one of the most celebrated modern footballers.
Excited eight-year-old AFL fan Jaxon Reynolds was the first in line to meet his hero and get his copy of the book signed by the legend.
- As part of The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal, a 2017 Hawthorn team guernsey with Luke Hodge’s signature is up for auction. Bids will close December 20.
