The funding comes from the government’s Community Development Grants Program, and will be used to bring together existing community assets dispersed throughout Exeter to create a unified community precinct.
This includes a relocation of the Exeter LINC, Neighbourhood House and the community garden into one central area.
Funding will also be used to upgrade the existing facilities, amenities, and car park at the Exeter community centre.
“The project will start next year and create 15 jobs during construction,” Tasmania Liberal Senator Jonathon Duniam said.
