They are taken from his book The Digger’s View, a joint project with Kent Rowe Digital Print. Hundreds of WWI images have been painstakingly restored and colourised by hand.
Mr Mahony said the aim was to bring an immediacy to the WWI experience and accurately portray how the Diggers saw themselves.
The book was published last year to mark the centenary of the start of the war. Copies of individual photos and limited copies of the book are available at thediggersview.com.au.
