But he's keen to find out.
Thomas, whose tracks have constantly hit the top of the country's independent charts, has recently embarked on his latest campaign.
But despite his previous success, he's not about to start taking things easy at all.
"When you put a song out, you've just got to push hard, and you've just got to hope you get that support," the acoustic-rock artist told X-Static.
"Every sale, every ticket sale, every CD sale, you've still got to fight for success.
"This single really is fun, and we put it together pretty quickly while we were performing in Las Vegas."
Thomas and his band will release a new EP in the coming weeks, which he says will be "completely different" from the single.
"As is always the case with us, we have a single that we will push to radio, which is nothing like anything else that we do.
"We have a live version of [one of his older songs] Three Footsteps on there, and then a couple of full-on ballads.
"That [ballads] is pretty much how our band started out, and Like A Gameshow Host has probably been our biggest success, so to ignore that success would be silly, so in terms of singles we look to put out songs which are pretty similar to that."
Thomas said his 2015 would again be consumed by shows both in Australia and overseas, helping to promote the single and EP.
For The Weekend is available from iTunes.
