Educated at Bridgewater Primary, New Town High and Elizabeth College, my first job was as a night shift crayfish cooker when I was 15.
I went on to careers in dry cleaning and then marketing for a global company based in Hobart, Perth and Longford before owning New Norfolk Dry Cleaning.
In 1996 I married Leesa and in 1999 our son Campbell was born, making the world a wonderful place. But tragedy struck in 2008. Leesa’s sudden death of natural causes had me telling Campbell his mum wasn’t coming home. As we collected our lives, I was approached to run for Derwent Valley Mayor which was a key point in my life.
My current partner Belinda has two teenagers Kyle and Sam, making for a busy family. A keen sportsman, I’ve played and coached cricket and football and have been associated with clubs in New Norfolk, Longford, Bishopsbourne and Molesworth. Recreational fishing is a family passion whether it be trout, tuna or simply dangling a line.
I am running for Parliament to further deliver community outcomes. Key issues for me are provision for years 11 and 12, the costs of Bass Strait transport, building a robust forest industry and growing our Tasmanian brand across the globe.
