Christopher John Wright, 33, was sentenced to two years' jail yesterday for committing indecent acts with two girls and indecently assaulting one of them.
Justice Robert Pearce noted the ``striking'' similarity they had with his prior offences, including sexually assaulting a disabled girl.
Launceston's Supreme Court heard yesterday that the crimes happened in a public park in Launceston in October while Wright was on a good behaviour bond.
Two girls were playing in the park when Wright entered with his dog after the children's parents had left.
The youngest girl told Wright he had a nice dog and he asked if she wanted ``to play a game''.
He then began masturbating in front of both girls. With persistence he had the youngest touch his penis.
He then repeatedly asked if he could ``touch'' the girl and she resisted but he put his hands down her pants and touched her genitals.
The girls returned home and, sensing something amiss, the parents questioned them, discovering some of what had happened.
Days later both parents saw Wright apparently loitering outside their home and he was ultimately arrested.
During a police interview he admitted being sexually attracted to children but initially denied the offences.
Crown prosecutor Virginia Jones said the family had been left devastated.
The mother had since sought counselling for depression and anxiety and wanted to move, fearful of what Wright could do once he was released into the community again.
In 2010 Wright indecently assaulted a young autistic girl, exposing himself to her and touching her genitals on separate occasions.
Wright recorded the acts and emailed one of the videos to two other people.
Acting on FBI information, the Australian Federal Police seized his laptop and found 2543 still images and 206 videos of child pornography.
He was subsequently jailed and then released on September 6 last year before committing his latest crimes on October 6.
Defence counsel Alan Hensley said Wright's early pleas of guilty and involvement in sex offender programs in jail reflected his commitment to tackling his problem.
He said Wright had been bullied in primary school and up until he graduated from Launceston College.
Wright lived near the park and was not acting in a predatory nature when the victims' parents saw him outside their home, he said.
Justice Pearce said the crimes had been distressing for the children.
He said rehabilitation and jail had not deterred Wright.
Wright was ordered to serve at least 20 months without parole.
