State housing prices up 1.6%

TASMANIAN house prices increased by 1.6 per cent to a median price of $310,000 last year. 

Real Estate Institute of Tasmania figures released today also showed that the number of sales for the year barely increased on 2011, up by just 0.2 per cent.

Launceston house sales remained steady for the December quarter compared to the previous quarter, while sales in the North-West were down 11 per cent for the quarter.
