Australia's largest Powerball jackpot winner claims $150 million

The identity of the new multi-millionaire was a mystery until just before midday on May 24 when the man, described by The Lott as a middle-aged Adelaidean, claimed the massive prize.

The unnamed man, who said he hadn't slept since hearing the news, planned to continue working despite winning $150 million.

"I'm at work today," he said.

"I'll buy a house, want to travel the world and I've got a family and friends I want to help, but for now I can't wrap my head around how big this prize is."

"I actually had two tickets into last night's draw. I looked at the clock last night and saw it was getting late and thought the draw should have been done by then.

"So, I checked the first one and it came up with nothing, then I scanned the second one and it said $150 million!

"I've never screamed so loud or jumped so high! I can't believe my luck!"

In South Australia, winners have 12 months to claim their prize directly from The Lott, the national lottery said.

There is also a process to claim the prize directly from the South Australian Government after 12 months.
