New data from the Tasmanian government health system dashboard released on September 30 has revealed the state of the public system.
People presenting to emergency departments and being seen within four hours is at 48 per cent.
In addition, the wait time to see a specialist is 446 days.
Labor health spokesperson Anita Dow said the wait times were not acceptable.
"Things are continuing to deteriorate under this government.
"We're not seeing improvements in access to health services for Tasmanians.
"It's pretty bad in the North and North-West where you're seeing long wait times to see specialists, but also around emergency department access."
Ms Dow said a lack of services in the North-West contributed to the extended wait times.
"I'm hearing a lot from people around long wait lists to see specialist services and that they're not able to see those here in the North and North-West.
"Also, elective surgery wait lists are bad across the state.
"The longer people are waiting for surgery and seeing a specialist, the more pressure on the health system."
In response, a Liberal government spokesperson noted that the elective surgery wait list had gone down.
"The elective surgery list has decreased to below 9000 for the first time since 2018.
"We continue to see a considerable reduction to the elective surgery waiting list, as our four-year clinician-led plan to address the waiting list continues to produce results.
"The elective surgery waiting list fell from 10,706 in August 2021 to 8 935 in August 2022, a reduction of 16.5% over that 12-month period. It's the first time the list has been below 9000 since 2018.
"The waiting list also decreased by 136 patients or 1.5 per cent compared to the previous month.
"In the last 12 months, the proportion of patients treated within the clinically recommended time period rose from 54 per cent to 62 per cent and the admitted median waiting time for elective surgery decreased from 76 days to 61 days."
The spokesperson said they "anticipate further improvements as the Statewide Elective Surgery Four-Year Plan 2021-2025 continues to roll out".
However, Ms Dow said that there were still too many people on the elective surgery waitlist.
