United's off-season recruit is proving worth her weight in goals at the moment as the attacker's brace, both scored in the first half, ensured the visitors went home happy.
La Monte's arrival from Western Australia has certainly delivered Frank Compton and Lynden Price with fire-power in attack as the winger showcased her tricky footwork and speed across the night.
She blitzed the field from a free-kick and bore down on the Devonport goal before displaying high-level nous to calmly take it around the goalkeeper for United's first.
Devonport levelled the fixture with key attacker Jazmin White continuing her good start to the season by finishing off a Strikers' move up-field with a tap-in.
In a case of deja vu, La Monte executed a clean nutmeg before motoring into United's attacking half and once again rounding the goalkeeper for her second of the night and the game-winner with half-time looming.
Arguably, La Monte could have added two more with one shot saved and one off the bar but the three points will be enough for the visitors with the game ending 2-1 after 10 minutes of extra time due to injuries.
The performance caps a terrific week for Launceston United on the field and off the field with La Monte, Madison Gilpin, Sydney Carnie and Laura Dickinson all named in the Football Tasmania select side for the Calder United match.
United's creativity in attack and midfield is set to be further bolstered with the club announcing Alexis Mitchell during the week and the American is set to lace up in the coming rounds.
White, Georgia King, Brooke Bennett and Annalee Bidwell also made that side from the Devonport Strikers.
It was a disappointing day for Launceston's two sides in the NPL Tasmania league with City and Riverside both tasting defeat.
Fans of the Launceston City persuasion might have been the only ones left happy about the NPL.TV game feed going dark during the match as the Devonport Strikers romped to a 4-0 win.
The Strikers put on a show for their fans at Valley Road with their attacking movement highlighted in the goal-fest as Joel Stone proved the main benefactor with two goals.
A familiar face returned to haunt City as Yasin Mohammadi marked his first match against his old club in style with a goal closely followed by Henry Andrews' finish which capped a remarkable performance.
Closer to home, Riverside's return to Windsor Park did not quite go as planned with the home side slumping to a 5-0 defeat against Olympia.
Riverside's performance was showcased when they gifted Olympia their fifth and final goal of the day near the close of play.
The visitors pressured the Riverside defence into turning over the ball before breaking down the wing at speed.
The subsequent ball into the box proved calamitous for the home side as a clearance was belted directly into the goalkeeper before trickling across the goal line.
Barring that goal, the other four goals were mostly down to the exciting play of Olympia going forward with the visitors ensuring they grabbed their first points of the season in style.
Vincent Turner managed a brace to lead all scorers while Tony Mamic volleyed home late in the match and William Simaan also notched a goal.
Simaan's goal capped a great day for the young talent as he made his first-team debut for the Warriors at Windsor Park.
Riverside will be eager to find a solution to their leaky defence with the Warriors result meaning all their loss have been by four or more goals.
Elsewhere in NPL Tasmania action, Glenorchy rallied late in their match against Clarence to walk away with the points after Austin Yost delivered a goal for the highlight reel to pull his side out of the fire.
Josh Divin put on a show for South Hobart to be their only scorer in an enthralling four-all draw against Kingborough.
South Hobart was two goals down against the Lions but Divin produced one of the performances of the season to add his third and fourth goals in rapid succession and secure a point for South Hobart.
