Not only did they claim the state's first national title of the carnival, they also became the first Tassie team to achieve success in that event.
City of Burnie's Alex Eaves and Nick Broxam, Launceston City Cycling's Lachlan Oliver and Hobart Wheelers' Jonas Shelverton and Dylan Rogers qualified second fastest (3:22.750) behind Queensland for the final.
They then won the 12-lap 3000-metre final by a .75-second margin, recording a speedy 3:22.412 minutes.
Eaves was stoked with the victory at Anna Meares Velodrome.
"This is awesome, we've worked really hard as a team and it is great to share the national champions' jersey with my mates," he said.
Eaves backed up the teams pursuit title with a second to South Australia's Wil Holmes in the under-17 boy's omnium on Thursday. An omnium is a multi-race event.
Long-time junior track team coach Janelle Smith was likewise thrilled with the team success.

"I'm just so pleased that a group have been rewarded for the persistence and attitude through a trying few years due to COVID," she said.
"It's just a real credit to the team".
BIG YEAR AHEAD
Gun Launceston cyclist Josh Duffy, 21, is pushing to make Australia's Commonwealth Games team in 2022.
"I'm pretty excited about the whole year, we've got Birmingham coming up so that's a big goal of mine," he said.
"For the rest of the team it's a big goal for us, we're pretty excited for that. But then also besides Comm Games we've got a lot of other international opportunities as well so we're pretty excited to get over there and get some racing done."
Canada is also on the agenda.
"The plan for me and the rest of the guys based in Australia is to head over to the Milton world cup in Canada, we'd be looking to put down a good TP (team pursuit) there hopefully," he said.
Duffy is pleased to be at nationals in Brisbane.
"It's nice some normality is coming back to everything we're doing so it's real good to be back with people around, you can actually talk to people now and not be in a bubble and it's great there's some racing back," he said.
He wants to give the competition a good shake in coming days.
"I want to win everything I'm up in, all the bunch races I'm looking forward to, and then I want to put down a good kilo for myself," he said.
"I'm lining up in everything but the IP (individual pursuit), we've got a Tassie team for the TP which is exciting."
