The competition launch comes after leagues like the TCL have reported major growth in participation numbers for female cricket this season which is a pattern occurring across the country.
"We want to be a sport for all, we want our clubs providing opportunities for men and women, boys and girls," Cricket Tasmania's community general manager Ben Smith said.
"This sort of development is all about encouraging more clubs to get on board and more associations to open up women's opportunities, particularly for junior girls ... we just wanted that to be a normal thing."
A similar competition has been run in men's cricket for the past decade as a way of increasing the uptake of the T20 format around the state and bring the game to a new audience.
"We're encouraging clubs and associations to keep exploring formats to suit the needs of their players, increasingly people have got busy lifestyles and we work 24/7 these days," he said.
"So offering a T20 competition in each association is really important because there are some players that's as much time as they've got available to play each week so the T20s have a role to play to keep people engaged in the sport."
While the competition is a few months away from its crowning day on March 20, Smith said the clubs were already keen to take the field.
"To go to that next level and compare themselves against clubs and associations, it's a bit of bragging rights statewide," he said.
