Exhibiting solo for the first time is a daunting step, but Launceston artist Jammuna Bond has seized the opportunity with both hands - albeit one holding a paintbrush.

From the Mountains to the Sea is a body of work depicting the beauty of nature, with the ideas coming from Bond's experiences.
"I come from New South Wales so I love mountains and all the natural things. Anything that has got light on it I love," she said.
"Without light, there is no colour, there is nothing."
The 25 works in the exhibit took a year to complete, though several were often being worked on at the same time.
"Art gives me the outlet into creative realism where I can fully immerse myself and not be distracted by events and problems of current times," Bond said in her artist statement.
The artist hoped people would be inspired by the work to connect with nature and where we started from.
"I was brought up to respect everything. That is a life, it's not just a thing running on the road," she said.
"I have a lot of compassion for everything that has life."
Though Bond said she could work with any medium, including pastel, watercolour, acrylic, and charcoal, she enjoyed working with oil the most.
"It gives me the effect I want," she said.
The exhibit is showing at Windsor Precinct until December 3.
