THE deputy principal of Melbourne's St Leonard's College, Andy Muller, has been named as the new principal of Scotch Oakburn College.

Principal Andrew Barr resigned after 10 years with the college in August and will finish at the end of December.
College board of governance chairwoman Christine Arnott made the announcement today with an email to parents and the school community.
Ms Arnott said Mr Muller has extensive experience in the leadership and management of a co-educational, early learning to year 12, day and boarding school
``During the thorough and vigorous search and recruitment process, the Scotch Oakburn board was impressed with the high calibre of applicants attracted to the position of principal of our college,'' Ms Arnott said.
``The board appointed Andy Muller because of his passion for teaching and his breadth of knowledge and experience, both academic and practical, in the education of young people.''
Mr Muller will take up his position in March.
In the interim deputy principal Anne Dunstan will take on the role.
Mr Barr has accepted a position at The Geelong College, commencing January 2013.
