Following in coach Nathan Philip's footsteps, South's opening batter scored 72 off 111 balls before taking 2-45 and assisting in a run-out with James Beattie.
Joining the Knights in 2018, Jayasinghe has been a serviceable recruit, scoring 1007 club runs - 918 at the first-grade level - and was a member of their 2018-19 grand final side and the following year's preliminary final team before the grand final was called off.
Saturday's performance in the one-wicket loss to Westbury marked the first time he's received the player of the round honour but it wasn't his highest Cricket North first grade score.
The dynamic all-rounder scored 88, also coming against the Shamrocks, in round six last season but was beaten to the post by Mowbray player Spencer Hayes' half-century and three-wicket haul.
Affectionately known as 'Sisco', Jayasinghe has scored 93 runs, sits second in the Cricket North run-scoring tally behind Philip (121) and is 13th in the bowling.
Other prominent performers in round two included Riverside's Aidan O'Connor, who made 35 and took 4-25 to steer the Blues to a Launceston win, Launceston's Cam Lynch (66) and Westbury coach Matthew Battle (64).
Yet to pick up a victory in the opening two rounds, South Launceston will be one of three Cricket North sides travelling up the North-West Coast for Greater Northern Cup action this week.
The Knights face Ulverstone while Mowbray and Riverside travel to Wynyard and Sheffield respectively as Launceston host Burnie and Westbury welcome Latrobe to Ingamells Oval.
Cricket North-West's Devonport have the bye.
