A Waverley man allegedly attempted to flush $8600 down the toilet when police arrived at his house, court documents from the Launceston Magistrates Court show.

Stephen James Williams, 40, was charged with a count of dealing with the proceeds of crime under the Confiscation of Profits Act.
Police allege Mr Williams knew the cash was the proceeds of crime and was intending to conceal that they were the proceeds of crime when he attempted to flush it down the toilet on September 15.
He was also charged with a count of possessing a controlled drug namely methylamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA and heroin on June 4 at Youngtown.
Mr Williams also appeared on four counts of breaching Supreme Court bail on 13 and 14 September, 2021.
He was also charged with unlawful possession of property including Makita tools and possession of a controlled drug namely methylamphetamine, MDMA and buprenorphine on September 15.
Defence counsel Evan Hughes asked Magistrate Ken Stanton to adjourn the case until September 22 at 11.30am for a bail application.
Mr Stanton remanded Mr Williams in custody.
