The pharmacies are being approved one-by-one this week and Public Health was hopeful of having 46 across the state able to participate in the program from the end of Friday.
On Monday, a map on the Pharmacy Guild of Australia website showed pharmacies in Kings Meadows, Youngtown, Riverside and Legana had been approved, with more to be added in the coming days.
TerryWhite Chemmart in the Prospect Vale Marketplace had also received approval to start vaccinating.
Pharmacist Christine Timms said the program would give older people more options and greater convenience.
"The over-60s have been really proactive in getting their vaccinations, we've got really good percentages of them who have been vaccinated already, at least with one dose," she said.
"Community pharmacies are well known to be Australia's most accessible primary health care providers. That increases the convenience for people.
"Whilst at the moment we can only vaccination over-60s with the AstraZeneca, we're hopeful that as things roll out further we will be able to vaccinate other people, younger people, as different vaccines come into the market."
The pharmacy had a mostly-empty schedule for vaccine bookings, Ms Timms said. Walk-ins could also find themselves in luck if they arrive when no vaccinations are booked.
"Depending on the pharmacy and their staffing and their setup, you should be able to find someone who can do it same day, or within days definitely," she said.
The program comes at the end of months of lobbying by the Pharmacy Guild, but the peak industry body was still concerns that those aged under-60 could not access it in Tasmania.
Pharmacies had received their vaccine stock from the Commonwealth after taking part in an expressions of interest process, and were waiting on the Tasmanian Health Department for an approved program to immunise. This involves ensuring the pharmacy premises meet the required standard.
Changes to Tasmania's Immunisation Program Guidlines were published on Saturday, which allowed community pharmacies to administer AstraZeneca.

A Public Health spokesperson said the number of eligible pharmacies would increase throughout the week.
"Forty-six received vaccine supplies from Commonwealth last week and we expect all 46 to be taking bookings by the end of the week," the spokesperson said.
