In 12 previous visits to Launceston's AFL venue, the Dockers' solitary victory came 15 years ago, by one point and took four days to arrive.
The infamous "sirengate" win over St Kilda in April 2006 bucks a trend which has seen Hawthorn enjoy its most impressive domination of any opponent.
Aside from another one-point win - this time in favour of the Saints in 2005 - Freo's other 10 visits to Launceston have resulted in 10 straight losses to the Hawks by as many as 116 points and an average victory margin of 43.
Furthermore, it is almost exactly 20 years since Hawthorn last lost a home game to Fremantle.
The Hawks have only suffered two defeats in 18 home games against the West Australians, at Waverley in 1997 and Docklands in 2001.
However, Hawthorn will also be trying to avoid losing three consecutive games to Fremantle for the first time following losses at Optus Stadium last year and in round four this season.
Another unwanted hat-trick Hawthorn will be trying to avoid on Saturday is losing three consecutive games in Launceston for first time since 2004-05 when West Coast (twice) and Adelaide left with the points.
Despite a phenomenal run of 19 consecutive Launceston wins from 2012 to 2016, Hawthorn has followed the round-six victory over the Crows with back-to-back losses to North Melbourne and Essendon.
Saturday's round 17 encounter will also mark two notable milestones in the Hawks' history.
It was 20 years ago this round that Ben Dixon joined the select group of three Hawks to have kicked a goal after the siren to win a game - against Carlton at the MCG.
And 50 years ago, Hawthorn recorded its first victory by 100-plus points (defeating Footscray by 115) as Tasmanian Peter Hudson reached 100 goals for the season and became the first player to do so four years running.
