Devon showed a lot of fight early on, particularly in their offensive third to keep the game close.
But the Cavs matched their energy stride for stride, especially in transition thanks to aggressive efforts from mid-courters Hannah Lenthall and Zoe Claridge.
Then Devon's offence suffered a massive blow, with former Cav Jamie Easther going down in the first with an injured ankle after colliding with the goal post.
"It's obviously really disappointing to see Jamie go down ... at the end of the day she was a Cav for a long time so all the best to her," Cavs co-coach Dan Roden said.
Some great circle work from Piper Sanders and Deanna Wadley had the Cavs humming away in the second term, guiding their side to a lead of more than 14 points.

The home team's mid-court continued to pressure Devon and limit offensive entries.
On the occasion Devon did enter their goal third, they were greeted by defensive notables Bec Hyland, Estelle Margetts, and back-from-injury Monique Dufty.
Going into the second half, Wadley substituted Hayley McDougall in the shooting; combined with Claridge, all three were able to take contended passes and pile on a tremendous Cavs lead.
Margetts was also subbed into goal attack in the latter terms.
"When we were doing a bit of burst work this week, we were looking at doing rotations really quickly and getting used to it," Roden said.
"It can be quite daunting for the girls to look up and see there's two extra people on the court they didn't see a minute ago, but you've got to train for those moments."
The Cavs have a bye next week.
