The awards are usually held all at once, however this year are broken into several categories, spread across five months - allowing for seasonality of entries, closer attention to individual categories, and a more COVID-safe approach.
In the recent Bakery and Preserves category, Sandy's took out the Champion award for their pear, honey and almond frangipane tart, as well as their white batard bread.
IN OTHER NEWS:
According to Mr Crisp, who took over the business a few years ago, they are awards that are a testament to the work of all of the bakery staff.
"The quality of judges is really good, to win with a sourdough product which isn't a commercial product, is really good that they're looking for that sort of artisan style now," he said.
"Overall we entered 15 products across pastry, sourdough and baked goods sections, so we're really happy with the wins.
"I imagine we'll probably be selling a lot of the almond tarts coming up now. They're a fairly new product, just seasonal ... pears and honey and almonds are a good combo and seasonal as well, we try and stick to that kind of philosophy".
Sandy's Sourdough products, including bread varieties, bagels, biscuits, croissants and more, are available retail at their bakery at Nairana Street, Invermay Tuesday-Saturday, or at their stall at Harvest Market every Saturday.
