While Launceston United fly the Northern flag at Kingborough in the Women's Cup, Launceston City carry the region's hopes in both the Lakoseljac and under-20 competitions with senior coach Lino Sciulli in no doubt what the weekend could mean to the club.
"It's a really prestigious competition, particularly if you progress beyond the final with the possibility of lining up against an A-League team," he said.
"That would be great for the club, particularly if you get a home game. It would be a good revenue-raiser but also great for the players."
But the wily Sciulli is not getting ahead of himself as City face the reigning cup holder Glenorchy who beat them 5-0 just two weeks ago.
"We are playing against a side in pretty good form that thumped us the week before so we have to go into it a bit differently. There are lot of areas we need to work on where we got exploited."
City will also have painful memories of the same stage last season when they lost 7-0 to losing finalist Olympia.
Although Shane Egan's ankle may keep him out and Gedi Krusa is cup tied, it is hoped that Will Rodman will return from his round-one facial injury and captain Jarrod Linger from a hamstring strain.
Sciulli said the under-20 side coached by Justin Dyer and Dan Smith have a similarly enticing opportunity.
"Making finals in anything are what you remember as the highlights of your playing days. Ulverstone are very good in their youth so should be pretty strong, but so are our boys and they go in with confidence that they can come away with the win."
