Having begun its first statewide campaign with back-to-back wins, United again struggled without Belgian playmaker Sofie Verhaegen, going down 2-1 at home to fellow league newcomer Devonport.
"We've lost the bite that we had at the start of the season," Prince said.
"Our decision-making was not up to scratch. We were too slow to react to loose balls which gave them a lot of free possession. We were standing off too much, weren't switched on and were playing in patches."
Karla Jones arrived from Launceston City to make a solid debut in the middle and United again looked to have a strong spine with Madi Gilpin and Jess Robinson combining well with hard-working forward Dani Gunton.
However, United's early opener came through the team's wingers, Jess McCallumsmith tearing up the right flank and producing a cross which Elodie Gray bundled in at the far post.
Gunton also struck the crossbar but with Robinson frequently shooting from long range and Strikers' keeper Georgia Anderson quick to leave her area to snuff out danger, the visitors kept the hosts at bay before stealing the lead either side of the interval.
Renske Rombouts fired in a free-kick equaliser before Jazmin White poked in what turned out to be the winner.

RIVERSIDE's inability to hold onto leads resurfaced as Olympia claimed a late winner at Windsor Park.
Alex Gaetani's men maintained their record of scoring in every fixture but remain stranded on just one point after the 2-1 loss.
"I'm pretty gutted for everyone," said the disconsolate coach after Joseph Mwarabu turned in the winner from Brayton Allan's long throw just four minutes from time.
Gaetani's consolation was the excellent contribution of debutants Will Ferrall in place of suspended keeper Dan Nash and 16-year-old Toby Simeoni on the flank.
"We do have depth and quality but it's still not resulting in victories. Two lapses of concentration, especially for that second one when we were pushing a bit too much and switched off with our marking. We need to focus the whole time."
Fletcher Fulton bravely headed the hosts in front midway through the first half from Todd Mitchell's assist and then hit the woodwork twice inside the next few minutes following great work by Simeoni.
However, Ferrall had already seen Joel Sammut head against a post and Kyle Vincent denied by a linesman's flag before the latter's shot crept in at the near post 10 minutes before the break.
The late winner somewhat flattered the visitors although Olympic - roared on by fingernail-chewing injured captain Taylor Neilson - squandered the chance to salvage a point when makeshift striker Tom Prince blazed over in stoppage time.
Argentine import Luca Vigilante limped off early in the second half after re-injuring his troublesome ankle but Gaetani was optimistic it was not serious.
LAUNCESTON CITY's longest away trip would have felt even further after a sixth loss from seven games, 3-1 at KIngborough.
Ben Hamlett and Jack Turner had the hosts two up but a hatful of missed chances kept City in touch and allowed Yasin Mohammadi to fire in Gedi Krusa's layoff on the stroke of half-time.
Lino Sciulli's men seized control after the break but couldn't find an equaliser and the Lions devoured the points when a freak own goal flew past the luckless Lachie Clark.
Miles Barnard and Jordan Lamb netted as Devonport won 2-0 at South Hobart who had Nick O'Connell sent off.
Glenorchy also had a rather good away win, 9-2 at Clarence Zebras.
Northern Championship
The top two sides in the women's Northern Championship weren't troubled as they both recorded a seventh win from seven games played.
Ulverstone cruised to a 4-0 victory over LAUNCESTON CITY but NORTHERN RANGERS had an even easier day, handed a 3-0 result after fourth-placed RIVERSIDE forfeited.
LAUNCESTON UNITED went down 1-0 at home to Devonport Strikers while Burnie United recorded the biggest win of the day, 6-0 at Somerset.
In the men's competition, RIVERSIDE and NORTHERN RANGERS repeated their result from round one by sharing another 1-1 draw.
Bryley Jordan fired the winless visitors ahead with Rhys Kinslow claiming the equaliser on the hour.
Olympic player-coach Joe Evans returned from a stint in the reserves to orchestrate proceedings from centre-back.
"It was the same story as round one, we gave them an early goal and then took too long to get in the game," he said. "Once we equalised it was our game but we just couldn't get the result."
The third-versus-second clash at Birch Avenue proved as close as the sides' ladder positions with LAUNCESTON UNITED and Devonport Strikers fighting out a 1-1 draw.
Sebastian Gardiner scored but coach Fernando Munoz appeared to be in the best form with his post-match analysis. "A draw that could well have been a triumph," he said. "But proud of my players who tried at all times to play, ran and sought in triumph."
Somerset maintained its 100 per cent start with a thrilling 4-3 win over neighbour Burnie United.
Fourth-placed LAUNCESTON CITY went down 2-0 at Ulverstone but coach Justin Dyer found plenty of positives.
"It was a depleted side and I'm very proud of the young lads who stepped up for their first game," he said. "Both teams played good football, we just couldn't buy a goal."
