The start-up space is thriving in the state - and for proof you need to look no further than Fiona Turner.
The chief executive of agriculture technology business Bitwise Agronomy is going from strength to strength, returning from Sydney on Friday with two new accolades to her name.
Attending the Women in AI [artificial intelligence] Awards, Ms Turner won the AI in Agribusiness award for Bitwise Agronomy, as well as being the Grand Award second runner-up for Innovator of the Year.
The awards a pleasant shock to Ms Turner, who said she didn't expect to win either award.
"The competition was insane," she said.
"It really goes back to the team, we've got a really good team and with all the team working together and bringing our commercial experience to that and trying to be really pragmatic in our approach.
"I think all of that coming together has really made our product great."
