Both matches were called off meaning ladder-leaders Hadspen progress into the grand final and enhance hopes of a third straight flag while Longford look ahead to a preliminary final against Trevallyn who extended their season at the expense of luckless Perth.
"Very frustrating," summed up Tigers captain Jackson Blair who rode a roller-coaster of emotions during the qualifying final.
From 34 without loss, the Chieftains lost 4-7 including the prize scalps of Dane Anderson and Thanuka Dabare (32 off 15).
A resilient fifth-wicket stand of 101 between Dilan Jayalath (59 not out) and Liam Reynolds (43) swung the contest, but, just as Longford dismissed the latter, the rains came with only 27 overs completed.
Nasrullah Khan (2-23) and Maxwell Magann (2-32) led the Tigers bowling figures.
"Rain threatened for most of the day and eventually it got too heavy and we couldn't get back on," Blair added.
Chieftains coach Reynolds responded: "Obviously it was disappointing because it was shaping up to be a really tight game but the one thing you cannot control is the weather.
"It's not the way you want to go through, you want to earn your spot with a big win, but the chance to play for three in a row is an amazing effort so we'll take a week off and rest our ginger old bodies."
Trevallyn hosted Perth in the elimination final and had blitzed their way to 255 with just two wickets down after 38 overs when play was suspended.
James Whiteley led the way with an unbeaten 107 and Daniel Kirk hit a run-a-ball 87.
The preliminary final will be between Longford and Trevallyn next Saturday ahead of the grand final on March 27.
