The 20-year-old Mowbray Cricket Club spinner impressed none other than stand-in captain Jackson Bird with his performance during the Tigers' drawn Shield match with Victoria.
"I thought Jarrod Freeman in the first innings controlled the innings really well for us from one end," Bird said.
"That's what we got him in the team to do, wanted him to come on and bowl dry and let them take risks against him, which he did that really well, so we are really pleased with how he went."
Playing his fourth Sheffield Shield game, George Town-raised Freeman took his best first-class figures in that innings, claiming 3-39 to take his list of scalps to eight.
After claiming Ed Cowan, Marcus Harris and Nic Maddinson in 2018 and 2019, the man they call 'Froggy' sits eighth in the Shield bowling averages this season, taking five wickets at 26.20.
