United will play four games at UTAS Stadium over the next two years in an effort to increase Tasmania's soccer content as the state looks to win its own licence.

Rudan says big crowd numbers at all four games will do plenty to convince the A-League of Tasmania's credentials.

"It's important to move the game around and it's good for the Tasmanian faithful and the locals - hopefully it gives them a boost to try and get their own team into the competition," Rudan said.

"We've seen a lot of other codes go down and play games in Tasmania and we're doing the same - hopefully there's a big support for our football club and the game in general.

"Having been to Tasmania a couple of times and spoken to the people that want an A-League side, I know exactly how passionate they are.

"This is their chance to vote with their feet so to speak, get a lot of people out there and show that they support the game and that'll put a lot of pressure on the people running the game to ensure that there is a team in Tasmania represented by the Tasmanians."

Crowds of up to 8062 have attended past A-League fixtures at UTAS Stadium, which is also bidding to be a host venue for the 2023 Women's World Cup.

News on successful bids is expected in the near future.
