Harper dominated the first night lowering the lap record multiple times setting the new bench mark at 13.504.

However he struggled in the heats on the second night.

Last year's winner Matt Pascoe, of Queensland, started from pole position

He would take advantage of that position to lead early from David Nichols and Adam Beechey.

Beechey went on the attack and moved into second.

Lap 10 would see Harper start his assault on the leaders he passed Nichols.

He then passed Beechey and went straight onto challenge Pascoe.

Pascoe was high on the track and Harper just charged through on the pole line on lap 12.

Harper then dominated the race on the run to the flag with heavy traffic coming into play.

Harper had a scare with 20 laps remaining as several back markers collided in front of him as he spun to avoid them.

At the restart Harper continued his dominance.

With Nichols in second from Pascoe and Beechey ahead of Robert Bird.

Several restarts wouldn't hinder Harper's race to the chequered flag winning from Nichols and Pascoe.

Robert Bird finished fourth with an impressive drive having started in 10th.

In the Formula 500's Dylan Beveridge gave a masterclass on high speed precision driving winning the Peter Redpath Memorial.

He won the memorial title from Adam Garwood and Steve Wrigley.

The racing continues on Friday and Saturday night for the Super Sedan Grand National at Hobart Speedway near New Norfolk in the South of the state.
