Coastal call-up
Launceston City's talented under-12 goalkeeper Tyson Rusden has been presented with the opportunity to trial with A-League club, Central Coast Mariners.
The club said on Facebook: "A thoroughly deserved opportunity, Tyson has never stopped training and improving this year, seeking extra training sessions at every opportunity outside of under-12 team trainings with coach Alex Turner.
"We wish you the best of luck next week Tyson and look forward to hearing all about it and we are sure you'll impress the Mariners throughout your time there." Picture by Jamie Richardson.
Super market
Launceston United is on the attack in its bid to join next season's Women's Super League.
The Birch Avenue club has to meet new strict criteria to join the statewide competition, one of which is sufficient female representation on the committee.
"Subject to WSL criteria being met, the club committee also wishes to advise our members and supporters that more female representation on the club committee is required to make our plan for women's football come to fruition, starting with the Women's Super League team in 2021," the club said on Facebook.
