HADSPEN
Last season: Premiers
Coach: Liam Reynolds
Captain: Liam Reynolds
Ins: Dane Anderson (Westbury), Jon LeFevre (Mowbray), Deepak Singh (ACL).
Outs: Jona Watts (North-West Coast)
Coach says: Obviously with new faces we want to form a good, tight bond as we did last year with new personnel - that's the main focus.
We want to play some good, solid cricket and if results go our way, we look to go deep into the pointy end of the season but nothing is a given in life as we have come to realise over the last eight or ten months.
[Dane and Jon] are two great assets that will provide plenty of experience and leadership qualities to the group and club as a whole, which is exciting times to have people like that at our club.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT
LONGFORD
Last season: Minor premiers, runners-up
Coach: Josh Adams
Captain: Jackson Blair
Ins: Richard Howe (Westbury), Jacob Wiggers (Ulverstone), Kieran Davey (ACL), Tom Dwyer (Westbury), Patrick Morehouse (Launceston).
Outs: Dilan Sandagirigoda (Launceston), Nasrullah Khan (Hobart - study).
Coach says: We've got a couple of big outs - they are both really good players - but I think with what we've picked up, we can cover them.
We've focused on getting a bit of youth into our team this year, it may be somewhat of a rebuilding stage but we are working hard on getting some local lads back to the club so they can push through over the next few years.
Our goal is to make finals in all four grades and I'm pretty confident we can do that. If we can do that, it gives us a good opportunity in finals to finish off the year.
ACL
Last season: Fourth
Coach: Shaun Woods
Captain: Shaun Woods
Outs: John Kedey, Chathura Athukorala, Jesse Digney, Danny Bennett (all Westbury), Ian Lebroy, Deepak Singh (both Hadspen), Kieran Davey (Longford).
Coach says: To be quite honest, I just want the group to have a fun year basically - just get around mates and have a beer after the game.
If we get a few wins under our belt, that's a bonus but if we don't that's just cricket.
TREVALLYN
Last season: Fifth
Coach: James Whiteley
Captain: James Whiteley
Ins: Sean Barry, Nathan Barry, Drew Clark (Beaconsfield), Joey Cullen (Westbury), Daniel Forster (Riverside), Liam Brown (returning).
Coach says: Our expectations are very much finals, especially with an expanded competition.
I think our average age has come down by about four or five years in our premier league team, so we are looking forward to having a bit more consistency in our squad - I think we have about 15 that can all play premier league and then consistency with our results.
PERTH
Last season: Sixth
Coach: Matt Devlin
Captain: John Hayes
Ins: Devendra Acharya, Haider Raza (NSW), Zac Barwick, Adam Etchell, Matt Scott (Tigers), Brady Scott (Panthers), Eden Burns, Billy Arnol (ACL), Trent Griggs, Shayne Goldfinch, Joel Slater (returning), Brad George (Launceston).
Outs: Jordan Furley (year off)
Coach says: We expect to play finals - that's where we would like to be, so it's all about getting a good start to the season and putting ourselves in a position to play finals.
Obviously once you get to finals, anything can happen.
A lot of these guys who have come in are all good friends, they all play football together or something along the lines.
It's just been a little bit tough to get everyone to training because football season went so deep.
BRACKNELL
Last season: A grade premiers
Coach: Dylan Semmens
Captain: Bradley Fryett
Coach says: We've got a few commitment issues from some of our team last year, so it will be a mixed bag of the team we get out there.
Expectations are always to play finals but we are kind of building towards being competitive maybe next year so it's just building a culture.
It's a big move for our club, we've had to drop back to one team to support the move to premier league but we are feeling good.
LEGANA
Last season: A grade runners-up
Coach: Michael Quill
Captain: Sam Hay
Ins: Nathan Van Noord (Returning)
Outs: Dean Crooks (Queensland), Beau Lowe (Panthers).
Coach says: After having a strong season in A Grade last year but falling short in the grand final, our group has a real determination to prove that we belong in premier league.
We're going into the season with the same experienced core group of players as last year.
The group has set themselves a goal of playing finals this year with anything less than that considered a wasted year.
EVANDALE PANTHERS
Last season: Evandale - Fourth in A grade, Bishopsbourne - Fifth in A grade
Coach: Andrew Wright
Captain: Steve Buchanan
Ins: Beau Lowe, Anthony Austin (Legana), Luke Oates (ACL).
Coach says: I've played cricket for 20-odd years and it has been pretty unusual with two teams amalgamating over the off season - I've never really heard of that myself.
As long as the boys are competitive and put their heads down and work hard, that's all we can ask for really. Obviously with both clubs amalgamating, we were both A grade clubs so not many blokes have played premier league but hopefully they are looking forward to the challenge.
GEORGE TOWN
Last season: Sixth in NTCA second grade
Coach: Jack Hill
Captain: Jake Burton
Ins: Jake Burton, Matthew Taylor, Manu Cheema, Yadwinda Singh, Joey Bodis, Sam Cooke, Zach Cooke, Jay Leslie.
Coach says: It's an amazing opportunity [to play TCL], it was disappointing with the NTCA decision but looking at George Town as a community, I think how TCL is played and the culture around club cricket, that's going to really suit George Town.
We'll be competitive and we are still working around what our best 11 looks like but I think, with the preparation with football seasons going a bit longer, that will be the same for all clubs.
We'll run our own race in what our goals look like as a club and what success looks like on field. With that, we want to be competitive and we'll earn respect by being competitive and going about things in a positive way - playing a good, positive brand of cricket.
