For the past 12 months, he has been in the business of manufacturing some of the smallest houses on offer under the name Tiny House Taswide.
The self-contained units carry a price of around $42,000 and could be an affordable solution for many struggling to find a stable place to live.

A compact build such as this would include a single bedroom, kitchette, living area, shower, pantry, and a built-in wardrobe.
Mr Best said the build could be customised through different kitchen appliances and energy sources.
He said he had long had an interest in housing, and in particular, affordable housing options for people.
In government, Mr Best famously attacked a former Human Services Minister Cassy O'Connor claiming she has failed to provide adequate heating for Housing Tasmania residents.
Now out of the political game, he is putting his interest to a more practical use.
"These houses solve a lot of problems for people," Mr Best said.
"A lot of people have life circumstances that haven't gone to plan and this gives them a place to live.
"There are a lot of opportunities for different types of housing in Tasmania."
He said a broad range of people had made enquiries to the business for a number of different uses, such as a construction for use as a detached building to a main residence or for use as a family holiday retreat.
Mr Best said the houses are easily transportable on a tilt-tray truck.
The houses are constructed with a double-welded solid metal frame and are insulated.
Mr Best said all products and services were sourced locally.
He recommended customers made contact with a registered building surveyor during the construction process to assist with the local government development approval process.
The tiny house movement has been seen as a popular option around the world due to the fact they don't generally attract a mortage, lower energy use, and allow its owner to move around more freely.
Some have chosen the option as they downsize into a simpler lifestyle.
Most tiny houses are characterised as dwellings with an area under 37 square metres.
The concept of tiny houses was born following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 when they were used to accommodate victims in New Orleans.
They became more widely used after the Global Financial Crisis.
